ACC and Sun Belt Launch New Matchup
The ACC and Sun Belt have added a bowl game to the postseason schedule that will send one team from each conference to face off in Puerto Rico. The new event arrives ahead of another planned bowl on the island and will mark the first time such a game takes place there. Teams will meet at a stadium in San Juan that has previously hosted baseball events.
Venue and Timing Details
The TransPerfect San Juan Bowl is set for Dec. 16 at Hiram Bithorn Stadium. That venue, known mainly for baseball, has staged Major League Baseball contests along with World Baseball Classic games, including some scheduled for the 2026 edition. The game will give participants a postseason experience in a destination noted for its appeal to college football followers.

A separate bowl called the Puerto Rico Bowl is also scheduled and will take place on Dec. 22 at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón. That contest will feature a team from the Mid-American Conference against an opponent from another FBS league. The new San Juan event will occur first and occupy the earlier date on the calendar.
