Close Ties Across the Sidelines
Bijan Robinson maintained a strong bond with Raheem Morris from their time together in Atlanta. The running back called the former Falcons head coach a father figure and noted that Morris continues to check in with players even after his January departure. Morris now serves as the 49ers defensive coordinator and faces a roster he knows well after two seasons as Atlanta's head coach.
Strong Defensive Numbers for San Francisco
The 49ers allow the fourth-fewest points per game at 18.3 and the fifth-fewest yards per game at 300. Atlanta enters at 2-4 and cannot afford another home defeat that would leave the team 0-4 at its own stadium and facing a fifth loss in the first seven games under Kevin Stefanski.
Pressure Remains the Key Challenge
Last week the Bears pressured Michael Penix Jr. on 46.2 percent of dropbacks and recorded five sacks. Penix posted the league's worst EPA per dropback under quick pressure at -1.17 and completed just 3-of-15 passes for 17 yards in those situations. Without pressure his EPA per dropback ranks fourth at 0.40.
