Knight Faces Former Club
The Blackhawks host the Panthers in a game tied to a March 2025 trade that sent Spencer Knight to Chicago as part of the deal for Seth Jones. The Panthers opened the season 5-2-1 but dropped their last two contests by a combined 9-1. Chicago sits 2-2 since Connor Bedard returned.
DeBoer Meets Old Team Outdoors
Peter DeBoer leads his new club against the Stars after parting ways following three straight Western Conference finals appearances. The matchup also pits Jake Oettinger (5-2-1, 1.23 goals-against average,.939 save percentage) against Ilya Sorokin (5-2-0, 1.72 goals-against average,.934 save percentage). Neither the Jets nor the Canadiens sit in playoff position heading into the Heritage Classic at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg.
Additional Former Connections
Chris MacFarland, now with the Predators after departing the Avalanche, sees his club face the team he left. Connor Hellebuyck was traded to the Devils earlier and will not play for the Jets in this outdoor contest.
